- Before the shoot day, print out Attendance Sheet & COF notes
- Collect Gate Key and sign out in the book, Flags, Signs
- Determine if shooting can be conducted properly for the day, amend events if required for the conditions
- Set up Danger Sign and Flag on the way in
- Set up Flag and Sign at the range flag pole
- Write on the whiteboard the: Date and Duty RO Name status and RO and advise RO’s Any notable hazards of the day
- Appoint RO noting that only B Endorsed RO’s can be an RO
- Put out members Attendance Sheet, note on it the date, events, RO’s.
- Check Visitors book and sticky nametag labels, ear plugs and over glasses
- Ensure Health and Safety – Accident and Emergency procedures are displayed in the designated area
- Ensure a copy of NZ Police Pistol Range Operating Permit is displayed in the designated area
- Ensure/Verify that all members vehicles have a 1kg(minimum) dry powder fire extinguisher on-board
- Ensure All members have signed confirmation that they have read, understood and accepted the Range Standing Orders
- Ensure there is a copy of the range standing orders on display in the designated area
- Verify that fire extinguishers are on the range and any congregation point.
- Note on Attendance sheets any incidents and as reported by Range RO’s
- Ensure that the Range RO’s have cleaned up the Ranges at end of day:
- Ensure all steel targets put away
- Ensure all equipment is put away correctly
- Ensure the range is tidy and nothing left behind
- Collect all flags and signs
- If leaving early hand gate padlock and key to another Duty RO to clean-up and secure, and note the new Duty RO on the Attendance Sheet
- Deliver gate key back to lockbox and sign out
- Send Attendance sheet and Score sheets to Club Secretary
Receiving of Visitors procedure:
- Sign into book alphabetically; sight FL if they have one
- Note number of previous visits and advise the visitor if at already at the 3 maximum and no application has been completed
- Collect $20 range fees
- Write the visitors name on Attendance Sheet along with the fees paid
- Write out a nametag
- Visitor to read Range Rules
- Ensure Visitor has Ear/Eye protection
- Determine if any ammunition is required
- Appoint a Member to supervise Visitor at all times
- Give visitors range fees to Treasurer or Secretary
